Fundraising for Scholarship Trust

  • Anyone, any time, any amount!

If you have a bright idea and it’s a good idea, members will want to be involved and encourage the implementation of an idea from small amounts to thousands.  And if they cannot be involved or participate, they ought to be encouraged to donate towards the event and show their support of the Scholarship Trust.  A form is completed for any Fundraising ideas which is then preapproved by the Executive.  Then the ideas is presented to the Membership.
One of the main reasons our CFUW/Kanata Club exists is to support the further education of young women upon leaving Secondary School or High School. The Scholarship Trust grants $1000 to 10 graduates of local high schools annually. In the past, we have also supported other educational endeavours such as assisting in the purchase of educational equipment and grants to Cornerstone, Housing for Women and the Ottawa Storytellers.
Every member should recognize this commitment and respond accordingly to the CFUW mandate to promote lifelong learning and advocate for gender equality and the rights of women and girls.  We do this through our annual Fundraising efforts.  CFUW/Kanata has been innovative and successful in its efforts towards achieving this goal.
