If you agree with our mission statement and would like to join a vibrant group of active women, we would love to have you share your time and talents with us.
Our local chapter includes about 100 members who work together in a spirit of cooperation and friendship. We connect women in our community with each other to share friendship, knowledge, resources, and networks in order to strengthen communities locally and globally.
We share our knowledge and friendship through our specialized interest and service groups. Twenty groups provide opportunities to develop bridge skills, learn mah-jongg, discuss books, sing, advocate for social justice, enjoy food with others, join in exercises, ski with others, learn local history, join the current issues group as well as the genealogy group, and take part in the travel talk group.
CFUW (Canadian Federation of University Women) is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 90 CFUW clubs, located in every province across Canada. As a group we are committed to
- Promoting education and lifelong learning
- Advocating for women’s equality and human rights
- Active participation in public affairs at the local, national, and international levels in the spirit of cooperation and friendship

New members
Any woman who supports the goals of CFUW may become a member. It isn't necessary to be a university graduate to join the CFUW. Membership in CFUW/Kanata is open to all women who support our aims and objectives. Privileges include participation in local, national, and international club activities and committees. This includes admittance to all general meetings, over twenty Interest groups, and participation in special events that may include CFUW groups from other areas of Ontario or across Canada.
