CFUW/Kanata has been a longtime supporter of the Kanata Food Cupboard (KFC). This holiday season we shall continue our support of the Holiday Hamper campaign and raise money to provide needy families in our community with a holiday feast of turkey and all the trimmings, and a few gifts.
The need is greater than ever this year. The KFC is anticipating it will be filling over 850 hampers this holiday season. We have set ourselves the challenging goal of raising $2500. With your support we can do this! Our fundraiser will run from Monday, November 4th to Monday December 16th
Interesting Food Cupboard facts:
- 20% increase over last year in families visiting the KFC
- Average of 408 families visit the KFC each month
- Busiest month was May which saw 455 family visits
- KFC spent 40% more money on food this year over last year because of increasing need and rising food costs.
- KFC provides in-person shopping on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings. Hamper deliveries occur on Tuesday evenings, and hamper curb-side pickup on Fridays.
