Well the snowy season is well and truly with us, but CFUW Kanata will warm your soul with all sorts of interesting diversions. Interest groups have already started their January activities. Be sure to reserve your Caribbean lunch by January 27 in time for our Feb 14 meeting at Stonehaven with special guest speaker Judi Brown from Kingston who will tell us about Black History in Canada. CFUW/Kanata’s Big Bijoux Bash was a rather more elegant event than the name may have suggested. A gloriously sunny location reflected the sparkle of the bijoux and the spirit of all those who attended. It turned out to be a successful contributor to our scholarship fund. A community event to be proud of occurred at our November 12 scholarship fundraiser: Enchanted Mosaic - An Evening with the Arts. it featured impressive artwork by CFUW members, intriguing items on the silent auction table, a celebrated athlete as our host, and a variety concert with something for everyone. Congratulations to all the contributors. Details will be published in the November newsletter.

A very special trip to the Supreme Court on Nov. 4 had a cluster of about 35 CFUW Kanata members engage in an informal discussion with Justice Rosalie Abella who graciously agreed to speak with us.
