A circular economy emphasizes buying only what's needed, repairing, borrowing, reusing, and repurposing. By adopting circular practices we can extend the usefulness of consumer products, reduce wastage, conserve resources, lessen the volume of materials that end up as landfill, and save money.
Speaker Angela Keller-Herzog will outline Ottawa's Solid Waste Master Plan and explain ways a circular economy can work for us in Ottawa. She will share practical ideas already implemented in Europe and other parts of North America, and suggest ways each of us can support sustainable practices in our own community. You are invited to bring questions and suggest ways to advance local sustainability.
What is CAFES?
CAFES is a network of more than 250 individual and organizational environmental and climate leaders from 24 wards and 50 neighbourhoods in the city of Ottawa. CAFES supports effective environmental action in the community and at the municipal level to create and safeguard a more healthy and livable city.
